Students in Year 2 at New Lambton Heights Infants School participate in the school's leadership program. As a part of this program, students gain valuable skills in organisation, responsibility, teamwork and public speaking. These skills assist students in becoming more confident and engaged citizens.
Some of the responsibilities that the Year 2 students have are:
- being a 'buddy' to our new kindergarten students ensuring they have a smooth start to school
- running the weekly whole-school assemblies
- organising lunchtime playground programs
- assisting with the sports equipment.
